We've just purchased our SECOND Hollow Log Home!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our guests, another wildlife home is on its way to Noonaweena - this time for one of Australia's cutest little residents... the Pygmy Possum!

Did you know?
🍃 Pygmy Possums are tiny and love cosy spaces.
🍃 They fill their homes with leaves to make a snug nest.
🍃 This specially designed hollow has a small side entrance so they can safely climb straight in from the tree.
🍃 Like natural tree hollows, these homes often become shelter for other native wildlife too!

This is Hollow Home #2 of our goal to install 10 wildlife homes across Noonaweena. Every donation helps restore vital habitat for the amazing animals that call this special place home.

🌿 A Stay That Gives Back. Help Us Bring Wildlife Home.

Noonaweena Lodge , caring for the environment isn't just something we talk about - it's at the heart of everything we do.

In 2026, we've set ourselves a mission to install 10 hollow log homes across our property, creating safe nesting and shelter sites for native wildlife. Our goal is to raise $3,000, and we'd love your help.

Why are hollow log homes so important?

✨ Australia has lost countless old-growth trees that naturally develop hollows, yet these hollows can take 100–200 years to form.
✨ Nearly 300 Australian native species rely on tree hollows for shelter, nesting and protection.
✨ Artificial hollow log homes provide a safe refuge while our forests regenerate.

Our hollow log homes will support incredible local wildlife, including:
🦜 Parrots and cockatoos
🦉 Owls
🐿️ Sugar gliders
🦇 Microbats
🦎 Native reptiles
🐦 Small woodland birds
🐾 Possums and other native mammals

Bowerbirds, what a weekend 🐦🐦🐦

It was so wonderful to open again and see both new faces and so many familiar ones. You all came out in force to support us, and it truly means the world. Seeing our community come together like that is exactly why we do this — to create a space for connection, to share homely food and great coffee, and to welcome you into the beauty of our property, which is usually only open for private events.

A very special highlight was welcoming for her very first solo exhibition. Her work is absolutely stunning and remains on display in the lodge. If you missed it, don’t worry — you can arrange a private viewing by contacting our team.

We don’t have dates locked in yet for our next café opening, but there are plans in the works… so keep an eye on this space for news of your favourite little pop-up.
