Home Valley Station Home Valley Station - a unique Kimberley experience on Balanggarra Country.
(484)

Located on the famous Gibb River Road, at the foot of the majestic Cockburn Range, Home Valley Station is engulfed by a landscape of breathtaking contrast. Experience the exhilaration of Barramundi fishing on the Pentecost River or enjoy the tranquillity of swimming in natural sapphire pools dwarfed by ancient red gorges. Soak in the unforgettable scenery on horseback or as you venture on one of n

ine spectacular walking trails. You can relax in comfort in the Station’s guesthouse rooms, stay in luxury in one of the suites idyllically set on the edge of the Bindoola Creek or pull up your camper and roll out a swag on one of the two campsites. Owned by the Indigenous Land Corporation on behalf of the Balanggarra people of the East Kimberley, Home Valley Station also hosts an onsite training program for Indigenous men and women from the region, who are studying tourism, hospitality and a range of pastoral operations.

After much consideration and consultation, Balanggarra Ventures has decided not to open the Home Valley tourist facility for the 2022 season due to the unacceptable risk of COVID-19 to the health of our staff, their families and the broader East Kimberley community.

We are very disappointed not to be able to welcome guests to Balanggarra Country this year, but we remain concerned about the complexities of managing any potential outbreak in our remote location and the risk this could pose to our guests. We take their safety seriously and believe that closing for the season is the most responsible action to take.

Any current bookings are offered a choice between a credit or a full refund, please email us at: [email protected]

The Kimberley Echo
“Home Valley Station will for the first time be accessible to tourists over the wet season, with a new culturally-focussed air tour to be launched early next year under new managers Balanggarra Ventures.

Balanggarra has teamed up with Kimberley aviation company HeliSpirit and Wyndham-based Nulla Nulla Aboriginal Corporation to offer a three-night package that aims to showcase the region’s scenic landscapes while educating guests about the culture of traditional owners.

The tour includes guided barramundi fishing, stargazing, and a rock art tour of Australia’s oldest known rock shelter painting, believed to be 17,000 years old."

The Boab trees are flowering at . The weather is very warm in the build up to wet season but the flowering Boabs could be a sign that the rain will be coming soon. With a delightful sweet fragrance, the glorious flowers of the iconic Kimberley Boab trees are beautiful but short-lived, only lasting a day or two before falling.
