A little note from us at Stonewood 🤍
You may have noticed something has changed when you go to book a stay at Stonewood through Airbnb, and I wanted to explain it personally because I certainly don’t want our guests thinking that we have suddenly increased our prices.
We haven’t 🤍
Our Stonewood accommodation rates have remained the same for the past five years, and our cleaning fee is still kept as minimal as we possibly can.
What has changed is Airbnb’s fee structure.
Airbnb has now moved us to a new single fee model, where they take a 15.5% service fee from the host’s payout. Previously, Airbnb’s fees were split between the host and the guest. Under the new structure, the fee is now taken from what we receive as hosts.
This means that we have had to adjust the price displayed on Airbnb so that, after Airbnb takes their 15.5% fee, we receive the same amount for your stay as we did before.
So, if you look at the price on Airbnb and think, “Oh, Stonewood has put its prices up!” we haven’t 🤍
We are not receiving more money for your stay.
The amount we receive for the accommodation itself has not increased.
The difference is simply the way Airbnb has changed how their service fee is charged and displayed.
We know it can be confusing, particularly when you’ve stayed with us before and may notice a different price at first glance when booking again. We just wanted to be completely transparent with our wonderful guests and explain exactly why.
We have always tried to keep Stonewood’s pricing fair and our cleaning fee minimal, and we will continue to do our very best to do so.
Thank you, as always, for supporting our little Stonewood and our small Kyneton business. Every booking, every return visit and every beautiful review means more to us than you know.🤍
With love,
