Happy World Oceans Day.

Here’s 7 facts about our oceans:

1. The ocean makes our planet habitable. Our ocean couldn’t be more important - it makes life on Earth possible. 🌏

2. The ocean regulates climate and weather. It protects us by absorbing 93% of climate change heat.

3. Humans are entirely dependent on the ocean. It produces 70% of the oxygen we breathe.

4. The ocean is the planet’s largest carbon sink hole. How? When sea creatures 💩 or die, the carbon is safely stored at the bottom of the ocean.

5. There is only 1 ocean. The ocean is our planet’s life-support system. If it fails, we don’t have a backup.

6. Our world is shaped by ocean life. It’s powerful enough to carve mountains, and ocean systems work at such an epic scale to solve our greater global challenges.

7. Over 80% of our ocean is unmapped, unobserved and unexplored. Much remains to be learned from exploring the mysteries of the deep. 🗺️

Lakes Entrance is situated on the edge of the Ninety Mile Beach where the Gippsland Lakes meets the Southern Ocean.

Forget packing up the car, driving kms, sitting in traffic and struggling for a car park. Just a short 550m walk from your door at Esplanade Escape and across the Footbridge, you will be sitting on the soft sand of the Lakes Entrance Beach and soaking up the stunning ocean views.

It’s a great beach for body boarding, lots of shells and perfect for a day out with the kids - but wait there’s more - it’s patrolled over summer, has a gift shop and cafe under the surf club, and change rooms & toilet facilities.

Did anyone say “ice cream”? Yep, they’ve got that too!
