Balmoral on York

It’s with great pleasure, that Sherryn and I announce that we officially sold the business today.

The Balmoral on York has provided us with the opportunity to work with an amazing team [some that are still with us today] and we have had the honour to host Prime Ministers, politicians, actors, rock stars, sporting celebrities and so many other lovely guests within the community.

It is with obvious sadness we say goodbye to everyone, however it’s time to enjoy this stage of our life and further our personal travel experiences, spend time with family and enjoy the little things in life that we have missed through operating this successful business for 17 years in a row with very little time off.

We say farewell and thank everyone that we have served or worked with - “it has been our genuine pleasure”. Every regular guest that we greet, or local friends that pop in to say g’day… we will never forget you and i cant wait for impromptu catch ups in the future.

Furthermore - the business will be in great hands, as such we wish the new owners best wishes and good luck [they will introduce themselves on this page in the days ahead on this page]. We will stay on for a short time and ensure the same standard of service excellence remains as your experience when next in Launceston.

I am honoured by the amount of approaches for the opportunity to consult in so many industries and i will honour some of those in the near future.

Farewell to everyone and we sincerely thank you for allowing us to be part of your journeys and daily life in Tasmania.

As 2023 is around the corner, “next year” is probably the right time for Sherryn and I to “consider” negotiations with buyers and look at selling the business [they are already approaching us as we had previously considered selling before the pandemic], we would be proud to pass the reputation, success and opportunity onto another team.

Don’t worry, this wont happen overnight and can often take up to 6-12 months after we start the process.

Well done team - another great achievement.
