July has been so much fun — mostly because our son moved in and turned the place into a construction site, comedy show and late‑night rail‑trail adventure zone. Wouldn’t trade it.

June has drawn to a close, and the grand old lady has cleared her throat for her latest announcement. She would like it known — in that dignified, slightly dramatic way of hers — that she has endured mud, mischief, and meteorological theatrics, and yet still stands proud. Linville may throw rain at her doorstep, but she answers with rainbows like a seasoned performer hitting her spotlight.

She’s been watching July approach with the air of someone expecting both better behaviour and a bit of admiration. After all, she’s given us progress, surprises, and only a moderate amount of chaos this month. In her opinion, that’s restraint.

May began with Linrose House giving us one of her classic, withering little sniffs — the kind only a 120‑year‑old matriarch can deliver.
