Wells Rest, located on Wells Street at the southern end of Linville, sits opposite Linville State School—where Principal William Wells served as the longest-standing principal in the school’s history. Both Wells Street and Wells Park are named in his honour. Photographs of William Wells can also be found in the Linville Hotel, where he once served as president of the Linville Rugby League Club.
Wells Rest is a serene 5-acre property bordered by the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail on one side and the school on the other. It’s positioned just outside of town, yet only a short walk to the hotel, café and local shops.
The property features a comfortable, fully self-contained two-bedroom house accommodating up to four guests. Visitors can self-cater with their own supplies or choose to dine locally. A covered carport doubles as an outdoor entertainment area, complete with a Weber Q barbecue and fire pit. Hosts supply utensils, gas, firewood, and take care of cleanup.
Relax and soak up the peaceful views, abundant birdlife, and grazing goats. As the sun sets, flocks of cockatoos return to the gum trees, announcing their arrival for the night. For those looking to explore, the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail is right at your doorstep, and Out There Cycling can provide drop-off and pick-up services for walking or riding back to Wells Rest.
Come and enjoy a stay at Wells Rest—you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
