***ANNOUNCEMENT***

It is now 18 months since a fire tore through the Macedon Railway Hotel.

To date the Landlords have been unable to resolve the issues surrounding its restoration and have also been unable to give us an expected date of completion.

As a direct result of this enormous level of uncertainty it is with a heavy heart that we are announcing farewell as publicans of the Macedon Railway Hotel.

We want to thank all of our patrons, staff, suppliers and artists over the years for their support. Lifelong friendships and memories have been made that we will cherish forever.

This hasn’t been an easy decision to step away but we hope that whoever steps in to run this historic venue in the future does so with a genuine passion for hospitality and community.

We have a very special kitchen takeover for our final gig of 2022, local legends Super Lekker Woodend will be providing a few of their favourites from 6pm this Saturday night 🍔

All are welcome to join us in the bandroom for a beer and a burger, all we humbly ask of folks not staying for the show is that you keep an eye on the time as it will be ticketholders only from 8pm.

The final day of the Mountain Writers Festival is upon us, last night ticketholders were treated to one of the very first public readings of "The Big Room - Ash Wednesday" - the true story of the Ash Wednesday fires starring Shane Jacobson Nadine Garner & Angourie Rice

This afternoon we're very excited to host the closing gala with a very special panel show-style event: How to Save the World in 90 minutes - no small task, handled by comedian Tom Gleeson and special guests.
