Mareeba Bush Stays has 12 acres of dedicated parking area, which is ideally situated atop a ridge providing spectacular, sweeping views over the surrounding hills and plains. There’s no individual spaces marked or allocated, giving you complete flexibility to choose your preferred location to maximize your view, access and privacy. A feeling of space and the chance to unwind amongst the gum trees, paperbarks and pandanus, which dot this landscape of undulating hills and fields. Many moons ago this property was a cattle station, but over the past 20 years it has been allowed to naturally revegetate with the addition of two (2) man-made, freshwater dams. Today the Mareeba Bush Stays property is an important nature wildlife corridor. It’s home to native vegetation and a range of fauna including but not limited to kangaroos, goannas and lizards, impressive termite mounds and an impressive population of birdlife. The property’s soil is decomposed granite, which provides a solid base for roads and motorhomes. It’s crisscrossed with cleared walking tracks, providing guests with the opportunity to roam the hillsides and visit the two established dams. These are an attraction in their own right, home to lillypads, cranes, storks, ducks, egrets, finches and many more species of feathered friend. Park guests will enjoy the freedom that comes with space and the security of being on a private property. Locally owned and operated, Mareeba Bush Stays is open 365 days a year. Your host and manager, Norm Caird, lives on site and is pleased to share his slice of paradise with you. Your tariff covers parking on the property, use of the approved dump point and communal fire pit. Advanced bookings are not required. There is no minimum or maximum age of guests. Groups are welcome.
