This WA Day long weekend, we pause to celebrate this incredible state — and the Wardandi people whose deep connection to this land, sea and rivers came long before us. 🙏

As a family-owned resort in Gnarabup, we’re committed to leaving no trace and protecting the endangered gnarran and the natural beauty that surrounds us.

Happy WA Day weekend, Western Australia. You’re worth protecting. 💚

🏆 Nic won!

We’re so proud to share that our General Manager, Nic Chirico has taken home the Individual Excellence by a Tourism Professional award at the 2026 WA Tourism Awards conference!

“I couldn’t be there in person to accept it, but the incredible Simon Brown from RSM stepped up and accepted on my behalf at the Carnarvon conference. Simon, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Having someone in your corner who genuinely believes in what you’re building means everything.”

This one is for our amazing community. Everything we do at SurfPoint is rooted in collaboration and connection, with our guests, our local community, and the stunning environment we’re lucky enough to call home. Sustainability isn’t just a buzzword for us, it’s the heartbeat of how we operate.
To everyone who has supported, encouraged, and journeyed with us — this award belongs to you too.

🍂 AUTUMN IN MARGARET RIVER, THERE’S NOTHING QUITE LIKE IT 🍂 Caves Road in autumn is something else entirely. While the rest of the world is busy, the Margaret River wine region quietly puts on one of its most beautiful shows of the year, golden vines, red dirt roads, ancient gums and that crisp winter light that makes everything glow. 🍂 These stunning scenes from and the iconic say it better than words ever could. That tree-lined driveway at Vasse Felix alone is worth the drive. 🌿. This is what our guests walk through on the Cape to Cape Track, world-class wine country right on the doorstep of one of Australia’s greatest coastal walks. Not a bad combination. 🥾🍷 If you haven’t experienced Margaret River in autumn, put it on the list. And if you want to pair it with an unforgettable guided hike, our spring season with kicks off in September.

Twilight at the Margaret River mouth 🌊✨
Kayaks resting, still water reflecting the dunes, the day winding down in the most beautiful way. This is where you’ll find , and it’s just a 30-minute walk by pathway or 5-minute drive by road from SurfPoint.

Sweat. Plunge. Breathe.

Happy World Bee Day! 🐝 Spotted this afternoon at SurfPoint, our gardens are buzzing. These little pollinators were hard at work on our native hakea, a plant that’s as much a part of this landscape as the surf and the stars. (Burrendong Beauty)
At SurfPoint we plant for the ecosystem, not just for aesthetics. Native species mean native visitors and a healthy, connected environment for everything that calls Gnarabup home. Look after the bees. Look after the land. 🌸

What you’re seeing is rare in suburban Australia: a sky almost completely free of light pollution. Gnarabup was designed just over 30 years ago with our nocturnal neighbours in mind — the gnarran, or western ringtailed possum. No street lights means they can navigate, forage and thrive as nature intended. It also means we get skies like this. The crescent moon paired with stars and planets low on the horizon, the Milky Way slowly revealing itself, and finally the moon dipping below the treeline in a blaze of red, all visible from the resort.
This is what it means to stay somewhere that genuinely puts the environment first. 🌿

The best thing we ever did was hire local 🤩
Every person on our team lives within 10km of this resort. They know these trails, these tides, this community — better than any operations manual ever could. It means when a guest asks where to surf, eat, or explore, they get a real answer. Not a brochure. Supporting local isn’t a policy here. It’s just how we do things. 🤝 Tag someone who deserves a Gnarabup escape 👇

Every product we use at SurfPoint has to earn its place here.
We’ve been using across our kitchen cleaning station; plant-based, chemical-free, and made right here in Australia with native essential oils. We refill rather than replace, so there’s less single-use plastic coming through the door.
The peppermint stainless steel cleaner is a favourite. It smells incredible and we feel good knowing it’s going nowhere near our waterways. 🌊
Small swaps. Big difference over time.
