There's something terribly romantic about an old theatre, don't you think? The Paramount Theatre in Maryborough has the bones of another era - my kind of era - but she's been given a most tasteful modern glow-up. Plush seats and yes, a licensed bar (because cinema is better with bubbles).From edge-of-your-seat thrillers to slow-burning drama, it's the perfect hideaway for an afternoon escape or elegant evening out.

Autumn in the Central Goldfields is divine. The air is crisp, the leaves are turning shades even my Parisian wardrobe can't rival, and the social calendar? Simply buzzing.

Between charming bushwalks through golden-hued gums and lingering lunches in historic villages, I'm untterly spolied for choice. The Maldon Folk Festival is an absolute hoot, and Bendigo Heritage Uncorked? Yes, please - and Pyrenees Unearthed? Let's just say I rarely pass up wine in a scenic setting. Try and keep up, darlings.

Once a watering hole for hardworking horses…now the pretties picnic spot in town. Phillips Gardens, right in the heart of Maryborough, has come a long way since 1860. What started as a simple mining dam became a botanical reserve in 1872 - and today, it's all shady trees, winding paths, and the perfect patch of grass for a slow afternoon. Pack a basket, darling.
