🏆 Huge congratulations to all our winners at the Matthews Hospitality Annual Awards Night! 🏆

It was a wonderful evening celebrating the exceptional people who bring our venues to life and make Matthews Hospitality what it is.

This year, we were incredibly proud to present the prestigious Tony Matthews Award to two outstanding leaders: Emma and Bri.

👩‍🍳 Emma, Head Chef at the Eyre Hotel, oversees a significant and complex operation that runs like clockwork. Her leadership, high standards and willingness to support the wider venue make her an invaluable part of the Eyre team and our group.

⭐ Bri, Venue Manager at the Mount Gambier Hotel, continues to steer the ship with confidence and achieve results that exceed expectations. In an incredible first, Bri has become the only person to win the Tony Matthews Award twice! An extraordinary and thoroughly deserved achievement.

A big congratulations also goes to Colin from the Eyre Hotel, who took home 'Most Valuable Budget Tracker' in recognition of his exceptional consistency, contribution, and the results his team has delivered.

We also celebrated our wonderful Plus One Award winners from each hotel. These awards recognise the people who consistently go above and beyond, through their dependability, exemplary service, commitment to our customers, leadership within their teams and ability to bring a ray of sunshine into the everyday.

To all of our team: thank you for the energy, care and commitment you bring to our venues, our people and our customers. Your contribution does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly proud to have you as part of the Matthews Hospitality family.

We’re incredibly proud to shine a spotlight on two of our outstanding Chef apprentices:
🔥Toshi – a natural high-achiever, finalist for 2025 SA Apprentice of the Year, recently promoted to Junior Sous Chef at The Maylands Hotel. He plans to continue developing his leadership skills by completing a Cert IV in Kitchen Management. Hard work, talent and leadership in action.

🏆Mikayla – Officially crowned 2025 School-Based Apprentice or Trainee of the Year in SA and runner-up at the National Training Awards! What an achievement!! Recently finishing Year 12, she is already on her way to achieving her trade at The Feathers.

These wins are a powerful reminder of what’s possible when passion meets opportunity.
