Escape into the magic of winter in the bush ✨

Wake up before sunrise and pop the wood heater on before returning to a cosy bed. Coffee on the deck in the crisp morning air. Backgammon and watercolours with your favourite humans. Wander through the lush national park right from your doorstep. Afternoon naps on the daybed and novels with an expansive view. Stargazing and toasty fires by evening.

I visited Grass Tree Gully last week and was so pleased to see how the property is recovering. And the shadows of the grass trees and mallee have been incredible.. stretching long across the land and moving as the light shifts throughout the day. Nature is incredible!

Thank you to all of the guests visiting, including some returning guests this past month. It’s lovely to be open and welcoming you all. April is fully booked and we’re really feeling into the shift of seasons now. The slower mornings spent by the fire and days out bushwalking in the National Park - many of the trails were not affected by the fire and are as vibrant and beautiful as ever. We still have lots of winter dates available too and would love to have you!

My dear friend Hannah has set up this fundraiser to help support the wildlife at Grass Tree Gully. The funds will go towards things like water stations and wildlife pods to assist animals during this fragile in-between period while the bush regenerates. Our little cabin made it through the fires and with minimal damage thanks to our epic firefighters. The bushland however has taken a huge hit. The fire moved through the landscape in a way I never could have imagined. What was once dense all encompassing foliage is how open and spacious. It feels so strange to walk on a piece of land that I’ve walked hundreds of times before and have it look and feel so vastly different. And the energy is indescribable. It’s beautiful in its own right and how exciting it will be to watch the unfolding.. a blank canvas and a new chapter for this little slice of heaven.

This week, the final page of our guest book was written.. three years filled with the most beautiful messages. Every time I head down to the cabin I love catching up on all your lovely notes. So many special moments have been spent here - baby moons, engagements, 1st wedding anniversaries, 10th anniversaries, even 50th celebrations and everything in between! alongside so many sweet, ordinary moments - quiet mornings, shared chats and cups of tea, and time spent simply sitting quietly in nature alone or with loved ones. It’s a privilege I’ll never take lightly!

It’s been another full year of hosting, and as the year comes to a close I just want to extend a huge thank you to all our guests who chose to spend time here, and who met this place with such care. Wishing you all a beautiful end of year and a slow and steady start to 2026! 🧡🧡🧡
