Since 2018, 8SENSES and Pop Up Park team are in partnership providing cultural and community events at Point Cook Pop Up Park. Bringing people together, building relationships and creating beautiful memories especially for our young children. Includes Kids Lunar Fun Day, Easter Fun Day, Sustainability Fun Day, Mother's Day, Mid Autumn Lantern Festival and many more activities.
1. Why do 8SENSES organise these cultural events for free for the past 8 years?
- 8SENSES love our community it is my passion to bring smiles and families together, it is a long term commitment and these events are funded by 8SENSES ❤️ and great support from Pop Up Park team.
2. Are there any commercial benefits for 8SENSES organising these events at the Pop Up Park?
- No commercial benefits at all, only for the love of community. With lots of hardwork and dedication from supportive volunteers and myself ❤️
3. Are families attending these events at the Pop Up Park, as there were quotes that 'there are minimal attendance at these events'?
- Look at all the photos attached, these events are always crowded with many families attending. I personally am there facilitating and interacting with families ❤️
4. Do families enjoy attending these events as there were quotes referring 'minimal activities at the Pop Up Park'.
- Families from various multicultural backgrounds do enjoy attending these events. Look at their smiles, and each year there are many families attending. ❤️
5. There are intentions from other parties of removing the Cook Pop Up Park and opening the road again. What is 8SENSES view and opinion?
- 8SENSES is about bringing families together especially young children to have fun and nice memories. We should be asking those children who grew up with the park for the past 8 years would they want the Pop Up Park to be removed. Adults can voice their opinions very easily, how about the children's voices. 8SENSES would like to be their voices because I have heard their laughter and seen their smiles at the Pop Up Park.❤️
6. Why is 8SENSES doing this post in support for the Point Cook Pop Up Park?
- The community should know the FACTS about the Pop Up Park since it started and hear first hand from Pop Up Park team and other community groups who have been engaging and interacting with families at the park. I have lived in Point Cook for 17 years and have seen the vast improvements made to the park facility, definitely with the intention of a long term usage and not temporary as cited by a spokesperson who may not have attended the events.
The removal of the park in my opinion is not just the physical infrastructure, it is a place where multicultural communities come together and celebrate. Yes the park may not be utilised by all residents in Point Cook because each person can make a choice. However there are many who has made use of the space especially the younger generation. As with all outdoor activations, participation can be affected by unpredictable weather! But recent public statements suggesting that park utilisation and event attendance is declining is offensive disrespectful to the community partners who have put their hearts into giving back to the community.❤️
Thank you for your precious time reading my sharing from my heart ❤️. However to distort any FACTS about the Pop Up Park in my opinion is not acceptable.
