The Hellenic Museum’s Dryad Drop-In invites young explorers to discover the enchanting stories of nymphs and dryads through storytelling, history, art and hands-on activities.

Children aged 3–6 can listen to magical Greek myths, handle real and replica artefacts more than 2,000 years old, explore the museum and create their own dryad-inspired artwork using the ancient technique of frottage (texture rubbings). 🎨✨

With activities designed to be enjoyed at your own pace, it’s a lovely school-holiday experience for families visiting Melbourne.

As part of Melbourne’s Now or Never festival, Multimmersion: Upside Down V2 transforms Birrarung (the Yarra River) into an immersive canvas of light, colour and reflection.

Created by Taiwanese artist AKA Chang, laser beams dance across the water to create shifting, kaleidoscopic patterns — blurring the boundaries between reality and reflection. 🔴🌊

Discover Revivification, a groundbreaking sound installation at Melbourne Town Hall exploring the boundaries between human biology, experimental music and generative AI.

Created from biological material donated by experimental composer Alvin Lucier, the installation uses cerebral organoids or “mini-brains” whose neural activity generates an ever-changing sonic landscape.

Part of Melbourne’s Now or Never festival, it’s certainly one of the more unusual experiences happening in the city this week.
