A companion to 'When the Past Awakens.' Maria's story needed closure for me... and maybe my readers???

How do we grieve?
Some of us cry like a trickling tap, many like a raging torrent. Yet others can’t shed one tear, some stay silent, there are those who wail or medicate and for certain people a bed is their only comfort. I found letting my tears flow, even in front of others and writing helped me. When my mother Maria Avraam passed away, or died if I’m brave enough to use that word. Knowing she was 98 years old helped, but the pain still resided deep within me regardless.

Ten years ago, Helena Kidd, a first-generation Australian of Greek Cypriot origin, came across her mother’s handwritten Greek diary. When it was translated, a very different woman emerged from the pages than the one who had brought her up.
The hardships Maria Avraam experienced as a Greek Cypriot woman forced into a loveless, abusive marriage, immigrating to a foreign country, coping with marital abandonment, and raising three children as a single parent were glossed over.

This is me as “Owner (female ) Builder” Bay Breeze at Coronet Bay started of many years ago as a blank canvas a block of land.....I couldn’t find a holiday house that meet my budget and style, so why not build my vision....Lots of hard work has given me my family and others time to enjoy my dream to reality..... This project is on going... I am improving, adding and creating more spaces/garden and more.....its my passion
