Friends, it's been nearly a year since we fondly bid adieu to our dear old friend the GB and injected the love into our new home, The Cherry Tree!
In honour of this momentous milestone, next Thursday 9th of July we're having a debaucherous birthday party!
Featuring the honky-tonkin, speak-easy, jive genius that is THE PUGSLEY BUZZARD QUARTET, surely a gig not to be missed.
And what party is complete without punch

Hey Guys, Just want to let you all know we're now up and running at The Cherry Tree Hotel, not still at the GB as today's middle page spread in Beat appeared to suggest (Lol). Dear friends of the GB,
I am writing to let you all know that though the Cherry Tree is pretty much ready to go we wont be opening there tomorrow and we wont be doing the march there from the GB. We have a full day to bump out before we hand over the keys which will be a pretty big job and the staff have not yet had a chance to familiarise themselves with the new bar. So we're going to take a couple of days to catch our breath and then regroup. Thanks to all who have come in for a drink during our last days and expressed their love and support. It has been a true pleasure running this beautiful old pub and we look forward to opening at the Cherry Tree in the very near future.

Ok GBers, this is the last night we have bands, yeah it's a big deal for us and it's time to celebrate all those who have supported original live music here with us. The Queens Head and Heads Of Charm will be our farewell double header. It's our last Friday night so please come and share it with us.

With only three drinking days left ‘til the end of our lease of the Great Britain Hotel, we invite you to join us outside the pub at 3.45pm on Monday, June 30, as we make the move to our new premises, the Cherry Tree Hotel. We will be marching under our new flag, the keg of independence and we look forward to welcoming you all for warm smiles, cold beer and all the fun and good times you can handle.

Tonight we say goodbye to Mrs Smiths Trivia at the GB forever. After 14 brilliant years of dedication it's going to be one to remember. Even if you can't get a seat tonight pop in to say farewell. 9 days to go GB kids! Second last Saturday for us to see your lovely faces here. Maybe the place you had your first pub beer, the place you met your partner, the place you played your first gig, the place that took your will to live the following day, the place you feel welcome, it's your place.
