Named after the town of Beehive in Ireland where James Colvin, the first publican, was born, The Beehive Hotel first opened it’s doors in 1855. One of the first Public Houses open East of the Yarra river, the current building has stood proudly on Barkers Road, originally named Beehive Road, since 1882. While The Beehive has changed much throughout the generations, the original interiors are still

featured today - giving off a rustic and earthy feel. Our establishment has a long-standing tradition of being a much loved local meeting place, and we intend to maintain that tradition for generations to come. As a local family, our goal is to restore the venue to its origins of being a family-friendly and food-focused local public house that encapsulates the iconic Beehive Hotel and its rich 160-year-old history. Driven by a strong passion for tradition and history, we strive to maintain good old-fashioned hospitality. Our delectable menu items are sourced from the highest quality of local and International produce, and paired with the finest wines that Australia, and the world, have to offer.

Winter Trading Hours:

To all our lovely busy bees - as the cold sets in and the nights get longer, we’re making some slight changes to our opening times. During winter, we’ll be closed on Mondays, and opening from 4 o’clock Tuesdays. The rest of our trading hours are unchanged, and we look forward to seeing you back at the start of the week when we’re a little less frosty.

As much as we celebrate it all year round, next week is officially Good Beer Week, and we've joined up with Coldstream Brewery to offer a fantastic Tap Takeover with a selection of their best beers.

We'll be pouring their Grand Porter, Czech Pilsner, and Australian Pale Ale all week for $11 per pint, $8.50 per schooner, and $6.50 per pot. But don't worry! We're still pouring their Golden Ale for $6 a pint as the famous Beehive's Brew. Their Cold-pressed Apple Cider is also available for anyone after something a little sweeter.

Mother’s Day is on the horizon, and The Beehive has concocted some truly delightful specials that Mum (and the whole family) is sure to love!

Our brand new head chef has designed a brand new menu that we’re thrilled to offer in full, along with not one, but two of our famous Sunday roasts - with a beef option and a pork option available.

We’ve got you covered for drinks too, with $10 glasses of gorgeous Australian prosecco, and our full range of spritzes for $12 each.
