If you are arriving over June long weekend, some of the committee will be relieving the caretaker during the day tomorrow from 11am to 5pm to check in our campers - so please see our friendly community members just after the creek crossing to check in and pay. Any time after, please see the resident caretaker, following the signs.

Nestled in amongst beautiful old gum trees, this campground has what you need: peace, serenity, the sounds of the birds, and with 100 acres of prime location - even with 200 horses on site they had more space than they could poke a nose at.

We had Cosi Andrew Costello and 200 horses here at the Showgrounds over the last weekend.

Thank you to Cosi, all the horses and their owners, but most of all our amazing community for banding together to put this weekend together.

Dorrington Park doesn't just boast the perfect scenery for camping, we also believe it's the best location for country footy and netball! Don't let this deter you from staying with us on the weekend though, with all the amenities still available and an array of food in the canteen, stay and watch the local sporting action right on your doorstep with unpowered camping still in abundance.

*** Note: 12 September is the Northern Areas Football and Netball Grand Final - so you'll be sure in for a treat that weekend!

If you’re camping at the Melrose Showgrounds, please aware that Tom Curtain will be there on Sunday night too!

Please note this is a paid event, not included in your camping fees. Entry is entirely through Tom Curtain and does not go towards the camping facility.

~ Advance Notice - no camping during 1-3 May 2026 ~

Due to the campgrounds being completely booked, we will be closing the grounds to camping during this weekend.

The Melrose Caravan & Tourist Park, Wilmington Caravan Park, Murray Town Oval are alternative places to camp during this weekend if you are in the area.

Are you planning on being within the Melrose Showgrounds around Saturday, 15th November? BE WARNED - there will be an abundance of line dancers and hoedowners on the grounds.

But don't worry, we are still open to the public - you might even be able to snag yourself a boogie to the band later in the night!!

With the Melrose Show fast approaching, we want to advise our campers that there will be no powered sites available from Wednesday 1 October to Saturday 4 October. But don't let this put you off coming to the showgrounds and watch the set up happen before your eyes. There is ample room for unpowered camping within our 100 acres.

If camping on Friday, 3 October, you will need to purchase entry into the Melrose Show for Saturday. Please consult with the volunteer who collects camp fees that night regarding your stay.
