Kookaburra Creek Retreat Kookaburra Creek is a bush Retreat. We have accommodation on 80acres of picturesque bushland. Surrounded on 3 sides by Mt Remarkable National Park.

Kookaburra Creek has a range of self-contained dwellings to suit individuals, families or groups. Abundant in wildlife, rich in flora. A Bird watcher's and nature lover's Paradise. Easy walking trails on the property and into the National Park. We can accommodate up to 18 people comfortably. (5-6 couples plus children.) More if every sofa bed is used, and you bring caravans or tents. Please refer

The sweet little Rufous Whistler makes my heart sing. You’ll see & hear them along our Sheoak Loop Trail, always keeping busy, moving methodically through tree and shrub canopy.

Their cheerful little song, “cheWIT-chWIT-chWIT-chWIT, joey-joey-joey, eeee-CHIEW! and eee-CHONG!” 🎶🎵🎶

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so much water flowing along the Melrose creek or in our creeks before!
The creeks have started to recede and are now at a gentle flowing pace. These videos were taken at their peak. It was simply amazing to see!

I think this is the most soothing and beautiful evening sound! The Painted burrowing frogs (Neobatrachus pictus) are at it again after all our glorious rainfall! Come and experience this natural phenomenon! You’ll hear and see them near any natural water source (if you’re super quiet) at night when you camp or stay in one our accommodations. 🐸
