You are invited to a FREE Community Safety - fire planning workshop,

This free workshop is for communities in the Mansfield shire, who live in high bushfire risk areas. CFA Community Safety Officers from Wangaratta will be here to help you and your family with your bushfire survival planning.

The Fire Safety Planning Workshop will help you and your family develop your personal bushfire survival plan.

The 2 hour workshop covers:
1) your local fire risk,
2) fire behaviour in your area
3) medium level preparation information
4) psychological preparedness for bushfire season.

After a couple of wet seasons, NOW is the right time to prepare your family and
make your local community safer.

WINTER - IN MERRIJIG

Heading home yesterday on an unexpectedly warm and sunny first day of Winter, I passed by the Merrijig fox fence.

And now I'm googling "fox fences."
Various Writers claim they are
either: a hangover from the days when a bounty was paid for fox eradication, or to show the scale of the local fox problem, or to ward off other foxes. Every day is a school day.

And yes ...

LAKE LIFE - HIGH COUNTRY VIC

The duck hunting season opened the day after we fished the lake. It was a lovely day and hubby caught and released seven fish from the kayak at Nillacootie that day.

We are currently scanning the weather forecast to see when the next sunny day will arrive for some more lakeside fishing, photography and painting. Fingers crossed it's soonish
