π’ OUR TIME IS UP π’
Starting a small business in our beautiful town has proven to be more challenging than we ever imagined.
Unfortunately, will not be able to trade again once our current permit expires. Our little startup isnβt aloneβmany local roadside vendors recently received a generic, impersonal email notifying us that our permits will not be renewed. This decision will significantly impact a number of small businesses, including some much-loved local food vendors, who now face the difficult choice of relocating and reapplying for permission to trade.
Itβs incredibly disappointing to have invested so much time, effort, and resources into building something special, only to be told there is no opportunity to continueβunless we look for a new location outside the designated exclusion zone (as shown on the map).
Since the start of the year, the weather has made trading roadside nearly impossible; Iβve only managed to open a handful of times, with very little business. Despite this, my heart was in it, and I had plans to grow and create an experience similar to Four Mile Beach, but on a smaller scale to complement our stunning coastline.
The good news is that we can still offer a delivery-to-your-door serviceβbut sadly, you wonβt see our little trailer out and about for the foreseeable future.
Iβm truly sorry, Mission Beach. I hope others will join me in raising concerns, because these decisions are hurting more local businesses than many realise.
Thank you all for your support. π΄π
