The Sport Access Foundation is giving away $24,000 in funding this year, and your club could be eligible!

The BlueScope Sporting Club Grant offers 4 x $2,000 grants to registered sporting clubs affiliated with a National Sporting Organisation to help make sport more accessible for young Australians with disability.

But that's not all. If you know a young person aged 7–17 with a disability who loves sport, there are also individual grants available:

🏅 Pathway to Paralympic Grant - 4 x $1,500 (ages 13–17)
💪 Kick Start Grant - 5 x $1,000 (ages 7–17)
🛑 No Barriers Grant - 10 x $500 (ages 7–12)

These grants have already helped produce 6 Paralympians and athletes competing at Commonwealth and World Championship level. The impact is real.

Due to current and impending rain, as a preventative measure all gravel roads within the Shire of Moora are now CLOSED to heavy vehicles over 4.5 tonnes until further notice.

⚠️Exemptions apply to school buses and emergency vehicles only. ⚠️

We ask that all heavy vehicle operators plan their routes accordingly and respect these closures to protect our roads.

Hearing the hilarious behind-the-scenes stories from Fleur's research - and knowing they made it into the books - means we'll never read them quite the same way again! 😄

Thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a wonderful evening.

So, what's coming next in Moora I hear you ask?

One part of the evening that inspired us, was talking about how we each have a story inside of us waiting to be told. Whether we write it for ourselves, or share with others, it can be a very healing experience – and one that we can leave for future generations to know more about, too.

Scammers are smart. They target people at their most distracted: the busy parent juggling work and kids, the student stressed about exams, the tradie getting an early morning alert, the retiree exploring investment options.

That's why this month, ScamWatch is reminding all of us to pause before we react.

This campaign is about more than rules - it's about making sure the right information reaches every rider in our community, especially our younger ones.

Escooters are fun, but they come with real responsibilities. Our local police force is cracking down on unsafe riding; but as parents, grandparents, neighbours and friends, we can all help by making sure the kids in our lives know the rules before they ride:

✅ Always wear a helmet - no exceptions
✅ Must be 16 or over to ride
✅ One rider per scooter
✅ No faster than 10km/h on footpaths
✅ No stunts or tricks

If they're not willing to follow the rules? Then they shouldn't be on the scooter. It's that simple.
