BEACH and TRACK CONDITIONS
as at today Monday 5th.Jan '26.
Expecting a storm late this evening which will help conditions, if substantial (HOPE!!)
MiCAT at the WRECKS TO COMBOYURO POINT
Take the first Cowan bypass entrance (1klm north of Ben-ewa Campground), avoid the helipad entrance just before the beach closure especially if towing. Track has several soft and boggy sections, low tyre pressure 14- 16psi, high range 4wd, slow and steady, beware oncoming yraffic some semi blind corners
MIDDLE ROAD
Entrance is badly rutted but ok. The first hill at the Tangalooma bypass turnoff is basically nearly impassable to any vehicle other than those highly modified and powerful Yank Tanks. If you don't make it first go, do your vehicle a favour and go back to Western Beach and take the Bulwer/Blue Lsgoon track if you need to get to the Ocean Beach.
The return track from the Ocean Beach is holding up reasonably firm, the first two hills are badly rutted but passable.
OCEAN BEACH to KOORINGAL
Tangaloma bypass about 2k in from Middle Rd turnoff has a very soft and boggy valley, BEST AVOIDED, if possible, but if you make it and conquer the adjoining hill then the Western Beach to Kooringal is best at low tide or at least 2 hrs after high.
BULWER to NORTH POINT and BLUE LAGOON TRACK
Good condition , thanks to Rangers' road widening and upgrade. Some of hills a bit soft especially on the return trip on both tracks. The first hill about 3k in from the Ocean Beach on the Blue Lagoon track has some rsther deep bog holes but do-able slowly.

before the intersection with the Blue Lagoon Track is becoming very soft and deep, keep up your momentum but beware oncoming downhill traffic going too fast, SLOW IS SAFE AND SURE
WATER CROSSINGS at NORTH POINT BEACH
Use the newly made sand bridges to sccess the Point, beware some of the brown water crossings a lot deeper than you'd expect.
PLEASE OBEY ALL SPEED LIMITS, DRIVE SLOWLY AND RESPONSIBLY AND WATCH FOR CHILDREN NEAR BEACH CAMPSITES.
