New rental rules started on 25 November. They make renting fairer and give everyone more certainty about their rights and responsibilities.

Changes for renters:

✅ no-fault evictions banned
✅ more notice for rent increases and notices to vacate
✅ rental bidding completely banned
✅ more protection for your personal information
✅ annual smoke alarm checks in every rental

Changes for rental providers:

✅ clearer obligations
✅ better processes for managing your property.

More reforms are coming at later dates.
