**Thank You, Moruya ❤️**
It is with a very heavy heart I am writing this message….
After 11 amazing years running the Moruya Waterfront Hotel, our time has come to an end as the venue has now changed hands.
Our early focus to revamp the music and entertainment for our town and region really put us in the map in the first few years. We shook things up which helped us winning Business of the Year for Innovation in the EurobodalIa Shire, then the region and made it to the State Business Awards on the back of our innovative approach to reengage the area.
This, along with winning 3 years in row the overall Peoples Choice Award for our region.
Putting on big buses for events from The Bay and Narooma to get people in and out safely were also a hit!!
Moving forward, I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported us over the many years — our incredible staff, loyal locals, musicians, and the wider community. You’ve helped us through it all: bushfires, COVID, and the tough times that have hit many small, family-run businesses.
Seeing how our Community came together during the fires was something I will never, ever forget. The human spirit, support for each other was truly anazing in this terrible time of adversity.
To our staff — you are all legends. We couldn’t have done it without your hard work, loyalty, and support. Truly the backbone of our pub. I have met some wonderful people over our journey as part of our large team of staff - some incredible people!!!
We’ve loved bringing live music back, creating a safe and welcoming space, serving great food, and sharing so many laughs and good times with you all.
It’s been one hell of a journey, and while this chapter has closed somewhat sooner than expected, I leave The Waterfront with a full heart and unforgettable memories along with some great friends.
As the sun sets on this journey, I say Thank You, Moruya and surrounds — you’ll always mean the world to me❤️
Kind Regards
Mark Ethell
