Overlooking historic Drumsara Plantation and the mountains of World Heritage Daintree National park. Minutes from the walks and swimming holes of Mossman Gorge national park. Native birds, butterflies and other wildlife can be viewed from the split level verandahs. Breakfast is served on the main verandah each morning. Your hosts, Chris and Mandy Coxon met and married in the Tropical North Queensland and have both worked extensively in the local tourist industry. The past 14years of which we have spent setting up and running Mossman Gorge Bed and Breakfast. Late yesterday afternoon while walking Flagstaff hill, I heard a rather strange bird call, one I was unfamiliar with. It was a fantastic compilation of multiple calls and sounds. There was a phone ringing, a motorbike and about 6 different bird calls. I was so intrigued that I was slow to get out my phone to record it. I managed a short clip with several bird calls, the best being a kookaburra. Such a clever bird. I’ll be keeping my ear out for this bird when next I do my walk

The view from the guest verandah this morning, has finally opened up after being shrouded in cloud for months. I think we may just be seeing the turn from summer to autumn, there’s a cool breeze and we hit the illusive 20 degrees overnight- it’s been a while.
