So great to have Chicks in Sticks back at Karingal !!!!!

CHICKS IN THE STICKS is returning to Karingal!

Sunday, August 28, 2022: Get ready for a great day (or weekend if you want) of fun riding with an awesome bunch of chicks.

New this year:
- two race loops newly designed to cater for green and blue levels, with more technical elements on the blue. NOT the old Karingal trails for the new riders.
- camping onsite thanks to Karingal Scouts - make a weekend of it!

Keep an eye on our socials for entry to open; trailcare days as we design and build these new loops; and social ride events so you can get to know the trails early.

We need a hand with something :)

We have a donated shed that has been erected to house Activity Equipment but we need some help to hang the roller door and put the ridge capping on the roof ............. Anyone in our network got the skills to donate a little of your time to help us get the shed functional ready for a great 2022 of Activity !!!!

Thanks in Advance :)

BushRATS Kids Mountain Bike Program now open !!!

Hi all, BushRATS starts this Sunday at Karingal and we still have a number of spots available.
Please feel free to share the following details (you will need to cut n paste) to your friends with kids wanting to get in to mtb!
Cheers
Lonnie
When: Sunday Oct 10 to Sunday Nov 28 (8 sessions); from 3pm to 4.30pm
Where: Karingal Scout Campground - Bimbimbi
Who: Ages 4-12 for our first cohort
How Much: $80 for the 8-week term
What Else?
All riders will need to be members of AusCycling.
We are happy for the riders to start off with a trial membership, however, from 2022 all riders will need to be full AusCycling and RATS members.
We recommend the "Race Off-Road" membership, it is marginally cheaper than the Lifestyle membership for the youngest riders, and allows the rider to race should they wish to, as they progress: https://www.auscycling.org.au/membership/race-off-road
How to Enter: Go to Entry Boss - You will need to create an "Entry Boss" profile for each of your family members that you want to enrol. You will need your AusCycling Membership number (or if you are one of the last on the old MTBA system then this is still acceptable).
Enrol each child individually using: https://entryboss.cc/races/8758/entries/new
Finally, we wish to recognise the valuable contribution from Coot-tha Kids MTB. They have helped shape our offering and have been open and transparent with how they operate their program and are equally excited to see our BushRATS program launch.

The National Adventurous Activities Summer School 2021, hosted by Scouts Queensland at the our campsite, came to a close yesterday
The youth members and leaders who attended participated in a packed program which included kayaking canoeing, SCUBA diving, snorkelling, sea kayaking, fishing, stand up paddle boarding, windsurfing, power boating and water rescue.

Congratulations to all that attended for their outstanding commitment in achieving their goals, within the Certificate pathway of Outdoor Recreation through the Scouts Australia Institute of Training.

Thank you to the Leaders and Training Team members for their commitment and support of the school over the 7 days.
