Our beautiful big blue 💙 no matter how many times you see it, it's always a lovely sight 😌

The Blue Lake/Warwar is Mount Gambier’s most famous attraction and one of South Australia’s natural wonders. It sits inside an extinct volcanic crater that formed around 4,000 years ago and supplies the city’s drinking water. The lake supplies thousands of households with pristine, filtered groundwater, with strict environmental and health protections in place.

Some highlights:
• 💙 Seasonal colour change: From around November to March, the lake transforms into an incredible cobalt or turquoise blue. During winter it becomes a softer steel-grey or blue-grey. 
• 🚶 Walking track: A scenic 3.6 km loop circles the crater, with several spectacular lookouts along the way. You can also drive between the viewing platforms. 
• 🌋 Volcanic history: The Blue Lake is part of the Mount Gambier Volcanic Complex, Australia’s most recent volcanic region. 
• 📍 Location: John Watson Drive, Mount Gambier, about 450 km southeast of Adelaide.
