Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and organised Head Chef/ Head Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have strong culinary abilities, excellent time management skills, and a proven track record in stock control. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining inventory levels, reducing food waste, and ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure all food is prepared and presented to high-quality and hygiene standards.
• Monitor and manage kitchen stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and replenishing stock as needed.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and report shortages or excess stock to the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager.
• Reduce waste through effective stock rotation (FIFO), portion control, and menu planning.
• Plan daily prep work and coordinate cooking timelines to ensure meals are served promptly.
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure service runs smoothly during peak hours.
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations at all times.
• Participate in menu development, cost control, and seasonal planning as needed.
• Keep all kitchen areas clean, organised, and compliant with health regulations.

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a busy kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of stock control, portion management, and food cost management.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment, food safety regulations, and hygiene standards.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Culinary certification or equivalent experience preferred.
