When you slow down you see more. The wildlife here is often unbothered if you stand still. Take the time to stop, listen and wait. Let the adventure find you.

Slow down. Experience more. Stay longer.

Walk into the rainforest. Ancient ferns tower above you. Moss-covered trees. Dappled light. The smell of earth and the rainforest.

You're not just walking through—you're walking *into* something wild.

Let the forest find you.

Alpine peaks. Pristine snow. The kind of silence that is welcome in a busy world.

This is winter in Mt Field—dramatic, untamed, breathtaking. The best part, many walks don't need a mountaineer's resume to get here.

The views are world-class and the experience will remain with you long after you finish your hike.

Then descend to your warm pod, hot shower and hot drink waiting. You've earned it.

Expect the unexpected. 🦕

Mt Field National Park is a living fossil—ancient landscapes that have remained virtually unchanged for millions of years. When you step into these ancient moorlands and rainforests, you're walking through a world that is steeped in history and story.

Ok, so maybe the dinosaur was taking it a little too far, but this is the kind of place with timeless beauty that takes your breath away. It is the kind of place that will help you create your own story (we are living proof of that)

Step back in time with us this not just to rediscover the wild heart of Tasmania, but to embrace the magic of the unexpected—the moments that make you smile, the discoveries that take your breath away, and the stories you'll tell for years to come.

It's easy to feel like you have the entire place to yourself.

This is winter done right.

It's the little things that count...
This time of year is so captivating. Once you start fungi spotting you really just cannot stop! I found these babies on a 5 minute coffee break up the top of our block. Now(when I have time) I am so keen to explore more to see what I can find... come stay and help me find more cool fungi 😉

Step back in time with me - Seventy years ago, The Mercury Newspaper declared Mt Field National Park home to "the most accessible ski fields in the Commonwealth."

In 1954, volunteers were already dreaming of claiming Winter in the state - and the country. (You could say they were the first adopters.) Today, that dream lives on through the Southern Tasmania Ski Association a dedicated group of volunteers who maintain Mt Mawson, Australia's southernmost ski field.

From the Wellington Ski Club's vision in 1954 to today's passionate volunteers, Mt Field National Park has always been a place where communities come together to celebrate winter. Where snow transforms the alpine landscape into something magical. Where generations of Tasmanians have learned to ski, played in the powder, and created memories that last a lifetime.

The mountains remember. The volunteers continue. The magic endures.
