MEET OUR GUEST JUDGE — ANDREW ARGENT
We’re delighted to welcome Andrew Argent, founder and owner of GiGfindr, Tasmania’s Premier Entertainment Guide, as a guest judge for The Duck’s Guts.
Andrew has built GiGfindr around something we care deeply about — getting people out to see live music and helping artists, venues and audiences find each other. Through his work with GiGfindr, Andrew has his finger firmly on the pulse of Tasmania’s live entertainment scene. He sees the artists doing the miles, the venues opening their doors, and the audiences who keep turning up to support live music.
That makes him a terrific fit for The Duck’s Guts.
This year Andrew will be making the trip all the way from Penguin to National Park to join us and take on one of the toughest jobs of the competition — helping us choose our finalists.
And it won’t be an easy task. The quality and variety of applications we’ve received has been fantastic, with artists bringing their own sound, stories and individuality to the table. Narrowing that field down means making some genuinely difficult decisions.
For The Duck’s Guts, now heading into only its second year, having people like Andrew willing to get behind this unique initiative means a great deal. It’s about supporting original artists, giving live music another platform, and creating opportunities for performers to be heard by new audiences.
So, a huge thank you to Andrew for giving us his time, experience and support — and for travelling south to be part of what we’re building here at Left of Field.
