Stanton is an historic property built by convicts in 1817. It is one of Australia's oldest homes with unique features such as a cantilevered sandstone staircase, and pit sawn floor boards. The entrance via the sandstone front steps is worn by nearly 200 years of foot falls. Stanton's rooms are comfortable and decorated to suit a home-away-from-home stay. We offer a beautiful

Tasmanian experience, locally sourced provisions whenever possible and lovely cooked-to-order breakfasts with barista coffees. Stanton Bed and Breakfast is in the middle of the Derwent Valley, 3 minutes drive from the Derwent River and the town of New Norfolk, 20 minutes from MONA, 40 minutes to Hobart CBD and 30 minutes from Mount Field National Park. We provide our guests with a Tassie grown goodness and our own hand tended vegetables, berries, fruit, eggs, honey and more :-)
