Little Norma

Four years ago everything had changed for me. I was having weird health challenges, to the point I’d stopped working in my corporate career of over two decades. So instead I started an Airbnb.

I’m not exactly sure where the idea to start an Airbnb came from - but Normanville was a town our family adored after many happy holidays there. It’s an easy hour’s drive from home, and I fell in love with the location and the potential of this little hexagon unit we now call Little Norma.

Little Norma was a fun and rewarding distraction at an uncertain time when I was mostly bedridden and searching for answers to my debilitating health problems. I deep dived into my love for interior design and decoration, and once Little Norma was up and running, I found hosting guests really rewarding.

Fast forward four years later and a lot’s changed. We’ve now hosted close to 200 groups of guests and we’re ranked in the top 5% of Airbnbs across the globe. We love being part of the wonderful Normanville community, our feelings for this little town have only grown. My health is also going better now, and we’re feeling ready to embrace the future and take on something exciting and new!

So watch this space, because Little Norma is getting a sister. She’s sophisticated but cosy. She’s in the middle of Adelaide city. Her name is Little Addie ♥️

Myponga Reservoir 💧🌲🦘

When you're about 15 minutes' drive away from Normanville you drive past Myponga Reservoir.

It's a beautiful spot, a huge body of water surrounded by forests and native bushland, and home to many kangaroos (see pic 4).

Main South Road runs along one side of the reservoir and through Myponga township, and even runs over the reservoir for a small section. Turn off at Eatts Street Myponga to explore the reservoir's walking trails.

Reservoir Road, however, takes you through the rolling hills of Myponga providing stunning views of the reservoir. You'll reach the reservoir lookout, which is a great spot to take in the dam wall, the reservoir and all of the surrounding nature. After you've stopped at the lookout, continue down Reservoir Road and drive along the top of the dam wall. It's a fun experience!

You'll then reach Forktree Road, and you're just minutes away from Little Norma 🚗🏞️

The Little Rickshaw has been on my bucket list for a while, I'd heard great things about their incredible food served in an old blacksmiths workshop in Aldinga. Last weekend we finally made it there and it was a great experience.

We had the set menu which included 9 courses, all so tasty and interesting and beautiful. The southeast Asian flavours are punchy and fresh, and the service is first class.

So many good things have out of Aldinga in recent years and The Little Rickshaw
is a jewel in Aldinga's cool and creative crown 👑
