Oh we do like to be beside the seaside -- we really do! and can I tell you a secret? Winter is even better. Seriously. I kid you not.

Hope you are all happily emerging out of lockdown in South Australia - and thinking of the millions of people around Australia who are still restricted. Courage friends!

So lovely to hear that restrictions have eased in South Australia and Victoria. Still plugging away in New South Wales with millions of people now under even stricter stay at home orders for at least the next four weeks.

Feeling for all those in quarantine too - stay well, stay warm and stay calm if you can!

It will be worth it when we can go for local holidays again. AKA sanity savers!

Ah yes it is now Friday...time to contemplate the next move. Hopefully that involves getting up close and personal with nature on the beautiful Fleurieu.

Proof of Concept. Our grandparents lived on Hay Flat Road on a farm named Palperipa, later retiring to Normanville. We always loved it here. Here's us in the sixties (I'm behind the camera) a throwback to 1978 when apparently it was Ok to play with someone else's dog, and another to 1981 when we all used to come down in a big group and stay before Uni went back. Happy days! Now I get to welcome other people making great memories too!

Our lovely guests got right into the pizza making when they stayed recently -- certainly helps when your Dad has professional experience!

Because then, now, and in between, our family has made great memories here - and you can too, when you come and stay. Best bit -- we are five minutes walk to the beach along a flat and shaded road. So, more you time, less cranky sandy kids in a hot car.

We are sold out for January, Easter and quite a bit of February. There's a couple of spots though, and it's a great time to visit. Less people and the weather can often be wonderful!
