May is Mother’s Month – we have a variety of guests booking stays for Mother’s Day at Nornalup Homestead and Sanctuary Train – on the actual day of Mother’s Day (Sunday May 10), or at other times during May, or even June. Some guests are booking to stay with their Mum, some are gifting their mum a stay. Some Mums are even booking their own solo stay at Sanctuary Train, as their own Mother’s Day gift.

How are you celebrating your Mum/Stepmum/ Wife/Partner/Mother in law/Grandma and any other special women in your life for Mother’s Day? Honour the special person in your life with a stay to remember. Give the gift of time and stillness to rest, relax, read or be still enough to savour the simple things in life.

“This is probably the best Airbnb ever! Of course, it's huge and roomy and well equipped and all those things you could expect, but what makes it outstanding is the incredible history within its walls. If you are only the slightest bit interested in history you will be mesmerised by the story of the Bellanger family and their escape from France to Nornalup. This means that you will also learn everything about the intrigues of the Dreyfus Affair in France. The house is full of photos of the Bellangers so you almost felt that they are there with you. A truly unbelievable stay! Thank you very much, Sal and Justin!”

Justin’s great grandfather, Pierre Bellanger, was The Man Who Loved Sunsets. Each evening, he would walk to the top of the hill, sit down and enjoy the sunset. He is buried in the registered cemetery on the exact spot. We provide our guests with a bench seat nearby and invite them to watch the sunset too.
