It is with great sadness that today we closed the doors to Riley’s Holiday Chalet for the final time. It was a very hard decision for us but today we sold the chalet and handed the reins to new owners. We have had an amazing 5 years at Riley’s. We bought the holiday home knowing it needed a lot of work and we took on the challenge, done a lot of renovation work and also improved it over the years. We built up a reputable business, with returning guests year after year as well as new guests staying every year. We had 150+ excellent or good reviews on Airbnb, Tripadvisor and Facebook and some lovely reviews left in the guest books.

We never anticipated COVID-19 having a massive impact on the self catering accommodation and hospitality business, which meant that we had to close the chalet to guests between March 2020 to July 2020 and again from November 2020 to April 2021. When we reopened in April we were at 100% capacity until the end of 2021 but it was the closure of Riley’s during those difficult times that finally allowed us to make the decision to sell and take on our new and upcoming venture.

So it’s with a heavy heart for us to say a sorrowful goodbye to every single guest and thank you to each of you who helped spread the word and give great reviews. Also a huge thank you to all our loved ones who supported us. We are forever grateful.

However, we will keep this page live for a couple of months and we will be happy to pass on your details to the new owners should you wish to stay at the chalet.

These are all the comments we have received since we reopened on 19th April and every one of them are positive. Thank you to our lovely guests for recommending Riley’s. Hi everyone.....we are now officially ready to welcome our first guests since early November. It has taken a week to clean and sanitise, decorate some rooms, carry out repairs, do some improvements and then some more cleaning and sanitising but it is all finished and ready to go for our guests tomorrow. We have 100s of new DVDs (thanks to our friends), a new TV in the main bedroom and the chalet continues to be COVID secure with a hand sanitiser unit and a NHS Test & Trace QR Code by the front door. Here are some nice promotional pictures taken this evening.

Wahoo!! Today is officially “Back in Business” Day after more than 5 months of being closed. Looking forward to welcoming our guests back. We still have a few dates available in May if you would like to book a few days away:

Monday 3rd - Wednesday 5th May
Friday 7th - Monday 10th May
Friday 14th - Friday 21st May
Monday 24th - Friday 28th May

After being closed since early November, it looks like we are back in business from 12th April. Pleased to see the bookings coming in thick and fast. Exact date of reopening Riley’s all depends on the amount of work we need to undertake in the chalet following 5 months of closure and any changes to government guidelines. Watch this space and thank you all for your loyalty in these difficult times

COVID-19 UPDATE:
Following the recent announcement from the UK Government that Mablethorpe along with the rest of Lincolnshire was going into Tier 3 from Wednesday 2nd December, unfortunately this means that Riley’s has to continue to remain closed. Whilst Lincolnshire remains in Tier 3, we cannot welcome any further guests. Any guests booked in with us until 17th December will need to have their bookings cancelled. The Government will review the tiers again from this date so we will update you further on or around this date. It’s heartbreaking that we are closed for longer than anticipated but this is out of our control and safety MUST always come first. Fingers crossed we welcome guests in the not to distant future 👍🏻

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement this evening of a second month long lockdown from Thursday 5th November, this means that we regrettably have to close Riley’s. Any guests who have a booking from this date until Wednesday 2nd December will unfortunately be cancelled. You can either choose to cancel the booking or ask for an alternative date if this is your preferred option. This is very sad news and one that we hoped would never happen again, however as a business we have to do our bit to help beat COVID. Thank you all for your support during these difficult times. If you have any questions then please contact Lee via our FB page but we will contact you directly if you have a booking with us.

Happy 4th July to all our guests. Today is a special day as the staycation market opens which allows Riley’s to welcome their first guests in 4 months. We still have 24 hours until some loyal guests return but in order to make it safe for all please find attached our guidance relating to the chalet park and our new cleaning handbook. This also includes the temporary changes we are putting in place to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Things will be a little different for a while but these changes benefit all our guests and also others around them.
Really pleased to welcome you back but please let’s all work together to keep us all safe.

Hope you have all been keeping safe and well in these unprecedented times. I know we have been quiet since early March but since lockdown was implemented unfortunately Riley’s had to close its doors to our lovely guests and we have not been able to visit the park. However with today’s announcement from the Prime Minister it looks like we are back in business with our future guests already booked asking for updates. We will update everyone as soon as we can and will work in priority on who is checking in first. We are writing a new Covid 19 guidance for our guests and we need to put safety measures in place to make your stay as safe as possible. We are not allowed to visit the chalet until 4th July to even do the basics but in the interim watch this space for our detailed updates. Despite being excited about the news we understand that your safety is paramount.

It’s Christmas time at Riley’s. Just checking in our Christmas guests who have come over from Australia. This will be one of the many places they are visiting whilst in the UK and it’s a privilege to let them stay for the festive period. All nicely decorated and a lovely Christmas welcome basket to enjoy too.
