Giving Back 🌸
Here at The Olde Creamery, we never take the support of our little farm lightly. Every sale helps keep our paddocks, dreams and slightly chaotic ideas sustainable.
But we also never forget that without the dedication and passion of those who came before us, Australia wouldn’t have the incredible diversity of Dahlias we enjoy today. Many of those breeders have now passed, yet the cultivars they lovingly raised in humble backyards are now admired, collected and sought after across the globe. I reckon many would be absolutely amazed to see where their Dahlias have travelled.
Throughout all of this, the Dahlia Societies have “clumped” together generations of growers — creating community, connection, education, encouragement and of course… a little healthy rivalry too.
That’s why it’s so important we carry “tubers” into the modern world while never forgetting the past. We all play a role in supporting the future of the Dahlia.
As part of that commitment, The Olde Creamery donates a percentage of sales to Dahlia-related causes and proudly contributes cultivars each year to the annual Dahlia Society of Australia auction.
And yes… those who know me also know I participate in the bidding process with perhaps a little too much enthusiasm… much to the horror of my accountant — the other Jamie (Twinning Geminis). 🤣🌸
