Local dams are overflowing after heavy rain this week. The overflow from our dam at Glenburn House runs into Wisemans Creek then into the Campbells River and Chifley Dam. Just before Bathurst the Fish River and the Campbells combine to become the Macquarie River which ends in the Macquarie Marshes west of Coonamble. The marshes drain into the Darling then the Murray and eventually into the Southern Ocean near Adelaide.

This crow comes to you via satellite. The NBN Sky Muster satellite service was installed at Glenburn House today. The satellite's planetary orbit is coordinated with the earth's rotation. That means that until Sky Muster runs out of fuel in about 16 years, it will sit in geostationary orbit roughly above Broken Hill. So future crows, rosellas, lorikeets, choughs, king parrots, cockatoos and honey eaters will reach you rapidly.

Vale Malcolm.

Mal passed away on Wednesday the 16th of September. Glenburn House will not be the same without him.

The B&B will be back in operation after a short break.
We thank you for your consideration in this time of mourning.

Glenburn House is located at Wisemans Creek, two and half hours from Sydney and twenty minutes from Bathurst and Oberon, in the Central Tablelands region.

Wisemans Creek was the scene of gold, silver and copper mining during the 1870s to early 1900s with a population of several hundred people. Today it offers a rural lifestyle to its less than a dozen permanent residents. The countryside is picturesque and hilly with a mixture of grassy paddocks and eucalypt-forested slopes.
