Feeling incredibly grateful to be walking out of hospital today after 12 nights.
For the past few weeks I’d been experiencing chest, back and arm pain while walking Reggie each morning. It felt familiar from my previous heart attacks, but this time it was different. The pain only came on in the cold winter air and with more intense movement, while I could still complete my daily cardiac rehab without any symptoms. It was confusing, but I knew I couldn’t ignore it.
An angiogram revealed the same artery had blocked again—99% this time. It was the third re-blockage in just 14 months, leaving me at very high risk of a major heart attack or stroke. Heart bypass surgery, the one thing I’d been hoping to avoid, had become my only option.
The first priority was getting Ainslie home from the UK. She was on a plane within 24 hours. My surgery was then brought forward because my condition became more urgent. Thankfully, it was successful.
A heartfelt thank you to my incredible surgeons, doctors, nurses and hospital staff RNS Private for the care you gave me. To my family, friends, my Intimo team, colleagues, clients and everyone who reached out with messages, prayers and love—thank you. Your support carried me through. And thank you to Intimo for your unwavering support during such a difficult time.
This has been another powerful reminder to listen to your body. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it. Getting checked could save your life.
Now it’s time for rest, recovery and healing. ❤️
