If you’re travelling to Oberon from Sydney, please note that there is a detour in place on the Great Western Highway following the closure of Victoria Pass.

The good news is there are still Other Ways to the West with several easy and scenic ways to reach us:

- Via Lithgow (Bells Line of Road or Great Western Highway + Darling Causeway)
- Via Mudgee, or Rylstone and Kandos (Golden Highway)
- Via Goulburn and Taralga (Hume Highway)

Fuel is available along all of these routes and in Oberon, so you can travel with confidence.

If you’re driving an electric vehicle, you’ll find charging options along the way in Katoomba, Lithgow, Mudgee and Goulburn, and we offer convenient onsite Type 2 EV charging at the motel (BYO cable, charges apply).

Sometimes the best part of a country getaway is the journey itself. The drive to Oberon is filled with beautiful landscapes, historic villages, and charming country stops along the way.

While the Great Western Highway is currently closed at Victoria Pass in the Blue Mountains, there are still several alternative routes into Oberon and the Central West - either via Richmond and Bells Line of Road, or through the Blue Mountains and the Darling Causeway towards Lithgow. Plan your trip, check road conditions, and enjoy the journey. We look forward to welcoming you when you arrive.

Why not turn the drive into part of the adventure and stop at some of these amazing locations along the way:
