This coming long weekend has just popped up as available at Sunways 🌞

Slow starts with freshly brewed coffee, the dancing morning light through the curtains as the seabreeze catches them, big beach walks + swims, Maria Island day trips, bikes to and from the shops for last minute forgotten things but that’s ok - nowhere to be in any great hurry.

This year has really kicked off and I don’t know about you guys, but I haven’t managed to regain control since it exploded out of the gates on the 1st of Jan 😮‍💨 if you’re feeling the same then don’t hesitate booking a long weekend at the Orford seaside 💙

Farewell Summer and hello Autumn. 🍂

On the last morning of summer I woke up to the linen curtains beckoning the final breaths of summer saltiness through the bedroom window. The boys went fishing, I slammed down a cup of coffee, donned the swimmers and went for a huge lung swelling walk up and down the beach, followed by a mighty plunge into the beautiful crystal clear waves of Spring Beach. I then went for a bit more of a walk and one more dip. It was the most perfect morning.

I think I’m going to give winter plunges a crack this year! I’m feeling inspired or am I insane??

Summer? Oh just a few snippets of sun here and occasionally there. Beautiful days on the beach, return to the shack and light the fire, batten down the hatches for wild storms, excessive grains of sand and smudges of ice cream discovered inside from sneaky afternoon ice creams devoured by excitable kiddies (also likely splashes of gin discovered from excitable parents telling tall tails into the evening).

Though this Tasmanian summer has been questionable, the memories are not - and that’s what we’re here for 💙

I’m beginning to dream of our spring and summer days — morning light drifting through linen curtains, the scent of coffee mingling with sea air, and somewhere beyond the front fence and trees, the gentle thump of waves breaking on nearby Millington’s Beach.

The house exhales into the day — still, soft and perfectly unhurried.

From the window seat at Sunways, it feels like the shacks of childhood summers — music low on the radio, chatter drifting from the kitchen, the smell of dinner carrying through the rooms. Outside, the river glows, just as it always has, holding the last light of the day.

Just flicking through some old photos from .photography stay over Easter and all the beautiful snaps of the colourful, mismatched, wobbly artwork and corners of this place is making me crave a visit and slumber in these beds - I might be biased but by jingo these beds are comfy.

Football is over for another year (THANK GOODNESS!!!) so fingers crossed for some weekend jaunts over the next few months and many lazy afternoons curled up in the sunroom 🌞

Does anybody else resemble a disheveled wombat who’s emerged backwards from a bush after wrestling with a bunk bed when changing the sheets?

As convenient as they are to pile the kiddies in when on holidays, I had enough of the wombat antics. Insert this gorgeous little double bedhead recently completed by for our third bedroom. I am utterly in love 💙
