Leawarra Farm Stays Leawarra Farm Stays offers short holiday accommodation. Close to wineries, art galleries and local events such as the Tour Down Under and Sea and Vines.

Leawarra farm is a unique picturesque 120 acre property located just 6 minutes south of the historic town of Willunga. The house has beautiful landscaped gardens back & front and overlooks a large dam. The farm has been a white Suffolk sheep stud since 1990, now running cattle. It is home to a wide variety of native birds and ducks. Close to some of the regions most acclaimed restaurants, wineries & beautiful beaches making it a great place for a getaway whatever the season. It doesn't get much better than this, today is an absolutely gorgeous spring day. 🌞🌸🦘🐐🦜
While I cleaned out the shed, the goats dozed in the sunshine. Our white faced heron waded in the small dam in the side paddock. A galah sat in the gum in the goat paddock, and was joined by 2 kookaburras and a wattle bird. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera, but just enjoyed the moment. A bit later a young pardalote landed on the shed gate a had a look around before flying back to the trees. Down at the big dam there are lots of ducklings, and I spotted a water hen the other day. 🌳🦆🐥🐥🐥

This young stumpy had started to cross the road and stopped for a rest when we encountered him. I got out the car, and tried to encourage him to move with the aid of our street directory. He wasn't very happy, turning and hissing at me, and biting the directory, but he started to move, and eventually broke into a run. Once safely in the grass he hissed at me again, this time I think he was saying "thank you". Your welcome young stumpy ❣️🤭🦎 Remember to watch out for lizards crossing the road, they've often mistaken for bark and sticks, and can be hard to make out in the shadows.🌞🦎

Earlier this week, the vet came out to preg test the cows. Thank you to Matt for coming over to help out with that, much appreciated. Now we're enjoying some Spring rain (Harry fertilised the lawns just in time) and hoping for a good hay crop.
