We’re hosting a BEER FEST so our trading hours look a little different around here from tomorrow through Monday as we host the inaugural Parachilna Outback Beer Fest

If you’re planning on popping into the Prairie over the next few days, please take a minute to check our changed trading hours.

Friday: Prairie closed from 2pm while we get Beer Fest ready, reopening from 5pm for bar + dinner service for those already in Parachilna.

Saturday: It’s BEER FEST DAY! The Prairie is closed for regular trade, with access for festival ticket holders only. Still want to join us? Grab a ticket through the link in our bio & tickets will be available at the gate.

Sunday: Slow Sunday for ticket holders. The Prairie reopens for regular trade from 10am.

Monday: Closed all day.

Then from 10am Tuesday, it’s business as usual.

Thanks for bearing with us while we do something a little bit crazy and bring a couple hundred people, four breweries, a stack of musicians and one very exciting weekend to Parachilna.

Wowee! We're really feeling for our Mundi Mundi friends today - the organisers, businesses, artists & especially those ticket holders whose weekend plans have suddenly changed.

We know only too well that when you choose to put on an event in the bush, Mother Nature has other ideas.

BUT... if you're currently sitting in Broken Hill with a packed car, your boots, your mates & a sudden hole in your weekend plans... Did you know there's a great little road between Broken Hill & the Flinders, via Yunta?

May we humbly suggest a U-turn, point the car west, north-west & head for Parachilna 👀 because if it can’t be Mundi Mundi, an Outback Beer Fest might just do!?

Four SA breweries. Food trucks. Market stalls. Outback games. Live music all day - Shannon Noll at sunset! Saturday is looking like a cracking 18°C & sunny & we're ready for a big weekend.

We'll find you a beer & welcome you to our party! You've already packed the car - might as well keep the adventure going.

HOLY SH*TBOX 🤯

The S**tbox Rally rolled into Parachilna last night & took over the town for a crazy 12 hours or so - plenty of laughs, plenty of character, some seriously “impressive” cars & LOTS of food.

A massive shoutout to our dear friends Rachel Marcus who came north to join the Prairie family & help us pull off the mammoth task of feeding 520 hungry rally goers.

What a crew, what a cause & what a sight to see in Parachilna.

The S**t Box Rally is coming to Town!

Heads up that we’re closed tomorrow, Saturday August 15, as we prepare to welcome a whopping 520 rally goers to the Prairie.

Well, well, well - here we go again!

After another incredible rain event we’re once again cut off from the rest of the world in every direction. Parachilna has recorded approximately 80mm since Friday, with some of the our regional neighbours receiving as much as 114–150mm!!!

It’s a gentle reminder that no matter how much we plan, prepare or schedule, the outback always has the final say. Out here, nature sets the pace, the country marches to the beat of its own drum, and sometimes the only thing to do is embrace it!

All roads, including the Outback Highway between & Leigh Creek, are currently closed, due to be reassessed tomorrow. We’ll continue to keep guests with upcoming bookings updated as conditions change. If you’re planning to travel, please check road conditions before setting off & remember - it is never safe to drive on closed roads or through flood water.

Last Saturday night was something pretty special 🔥

Our Fire & Ferment Winemaker’s Table with Torbreck was everything we’d hoped it would be – a crackling fire, incredible food from our kitchen team, some truly exceptional wines (including a few very special cellar & museum releases), and a room full of wonderful people sharing good food, great wine & interesting conversation.

A huge thank you to Chief Winemaker Ian Hongell & the Torbreck team for bringing not only remarkable wines, but the stories, passion & generosity that made the evening so memorable.

These evenings are fast becoming one of our favourite things to do at the Prairie. There’s something so magical about slowing down, sharing stories over multiple courses, and celebrating the people behind the bottle.

Here’s a little look back at an unforgettable evening, captured by our very own Restaurant & Bar Manager, Jojo! If you’re feeling like you missed out, well you did, BUT the good news is there are more Winemakers Table events in this series, that we can’t wait to welcome you to.

The Prairie Hotel will be closed tomorrow, Monday July 20 - after one of the biggest school holiday periods we’ve ever experienced, we’ve made the decision to give our incredible team a well-earned day to rest, recharge & catch their breath.

A huge thank you to everyone who has visited us over the past month! After a tough start to the season, your support means so much to our family & Prairie Team.

We’ll reopen as usual Tuesday 21st of July & have no doubt the good times will keep rolling!

📣 HEADS UP FOR TOMORROW

The Prairie will be closing from 3pm tomorrow, FRIDAY 10 JULY, as we welcome guests for a very special private function tomorrow evening.

We’ll be open as usual until 3pm, including serving lunch, and back to standard trading from 10am on Saturday 11th.
