Waking distance down the trail 👣

The recently opened Glen Brook elevated walkway is giving visitors a whole new way to experience John Forrest National Park in the Experience Perth Hills.

Stretching around 250 metres through the bushland, the new walkway offers elevated views across the brook, granite outcrops and surrounding canopy, and forms part of a major revitalisation project inside WA’s oldest national park. Built using corten steel and reclaimed spotted gum, it blends into the natural landscape surprisingly well.

We were recently gifted these solar bird lights from a lovely couple who stayed with us for a long weekend at Whistle Creek Carriage. We're delighted to have them in the garden now, lighting our way in the evening and as a reminder of the amazing people we meet whilst sharing our special place x

Experience Perth Hills Mundaring has some fabulous ideas and local events... its well worth combining a weekend away with an enjoyable activity! There's plenty to see and do in the Perth Hills, particularly with this perfect weather!

Back in the 60's, when the train ran past our property, there were minimal large trees around from being cleared. Seasoned travellers on the railway knew to look out for the large Grove of 18m+ tall bamboo on our property, a sign they were almost at Parkerville Station. The bamboo has grown considerably in the 20 years we've been here, and it is no longer 2 clumps with a walkway in between...! Now one giant mass, located at the end of Whistle Creek Carriage.
