We stopped in to see the iconic Parkes Radio Telescope – “The Dish” on our travels through Parkes NSW.

Standing beneath it really puts into perspective its sheer size and the important role it played in Australia’s scientific history, especially during the Apollo 11 moon landing.

We were lucky enough to watch it slowly change direction, which made the experience even more impressive seeing just how precisely something so enormous can move.

The kids loved learning how it works, and the views across the surrounding countryside made it a perfect break from the road — a short stop, but one that left a lasting impression.

Nice little over night free camp along the lake at Forbes NSW

We spent our final few nights with the Hutchins family camped along the Murray River in Mildura, enjoying those last shared moments on the road.

The kids played, the adults relaxed, and the river rolled by quietly — the perfect backdrop for wrapping up our time travelling together.

It was a simple, peaceful stay, made special by great company and the memories we’ve made along the way.

During our one-night stay at Moorook along the Murray River, we were greeted with lush green grass and a peaceful riverside vibe.

The boys spent the afternoon trying their luck at fishing while we soaked up the calm, country atmosphere.

It was a simple, relaxing stopover by the water—just the kind of slow moment that makes travelling feel special.
