It’s been a great ride but after many years, Gippsland Lakehouse has a new owner. Although our house will no longer be a holiday rental, do not despair; the twin property next door will still be available to book through .

We’d like to thank all our past guests, and look forward to continuing our association with the Paynesville community—the BEST little town on the !

The Ethereal Lake in the Eagle Point Flora and Fauna Reserve was the highlight of our late afternoon walk. It’s an ethereal lake because it’s not there all year round, but it provides an important environment for animals and plants alike, with fields of wild samphire and pig face. We also learned about bats at the Bat House, and spotted kangaroos scattering through the bushes.
