Behind every pint poured at the marina is a whole lot of passion, creativity and hard work 🍻

Meet Mike, our Head Brewer and the mastermind behind the b**rs you know and love at the Indi (and star of some of our funniest reel).

For almost 3 years, Mike has been taking b**rs from the first recipe ideas all the way through to the final pour. And while brewing might sound like the dream job (Mike says it’s the “best job in the world”), there’s a lot more to it than just drinking b**r all day... 🧼

From creating new recipes and brewing batches, to filtering, kegging and the very important job of cleaning and sanitising, there’s plenty happening behind the scenes. In fact, cleaning makes up more than 80% of Mike’s day-to-day work!

Creating a new b**r is part science, part creativity and a whole lot of precision. Every recipe is carefully planned, measured and brewed to bring out the right flavours.

But the best part of the job? Seeing YOU enjoy the finished product. There’s nothing quite like creating something from scratch and watching people come back for another pint 🍺

When he’s not brewing, you’ll probably find Mike enjoying an Export L***r at the Indi, grabbing fish tacos at The Boat, or relaxing on the boardwalk watching people enjoy the b**rs he created.

AFL Grand Final 🏉
The biggest game of the AFL season is being shown live and loud at both The Boat and the Indi! Expect big screens, $7.50 Freo Froth pints, food and drink specials and plenty of footy atmosphere.

29 September | 1–2pm | Ages 8–12
Dive in and discover our favourite ocean oddities and how they adopt to their watery home. What does a whale and sea horse have in common? Who's the best dad in the ocean and who can hide right before your eyes? Puzzle this out and you can take home a 3D seahorse wooden display 🐳🦑🦐

✨ Just Add Slime at The Boat
1 & 6 October | 1–2pm | Ages 6–12
It’s time to play! It’s stretchy, sticky and a little bit icky. Lots of fun, we’ve just begun with sprinkles and glitter galore. You’re in time to make some slime but don’t leave it here it’ll disappear, I suggest you take it home ✨😄

🍕 Kids Pizza Making at the Indi
30 September (now full!), 7 & 8 October | 11.30am–1pm | Ages 4–10
Our pizza making sessions at the Indi are proving to be the crowd favourite once again, with little chefs getting to create their own pizza and enjoy it fresh from the oven 🍕👩‍🍳 These sessions are nearly sold out, so if your little one has their eye on this one, now’s the time to book!
