50 Years Deadly.

This NAIDOC Week, Kuuwa proudly reflects on the importance of our partnership with Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation and the Traditional Owners of Thalanyji Country.

For 50 years, NAIDOC has celebrated the strength, resilience, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

It is the history, perseverance, and knowledge passed from Elders to younger generations that keep culture alive, strong, and enduring for generations to come.


We are grateful for the connection we have with BTAC and the Traditional owners of Thalanyji Country. Their enduring connection to Country, culture, and community continues to inspire us, and we value the knowledge and perspectives they share.


We also acknowledge the Whadjuk Noongar people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live and work in Boorloo. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.


This NAIDOC Week, we celebrate 50 Years Deadly honouring the legacy of those who came before us and recognising the strength, vision, and leadership that will carry culture forward for generations to come

The EX2600 is one step closer to its final destination.

Following a recent visit to Brisbane, the Kuuwa team had the opportunity to see the progress being made by Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia as the machine prepares for its next stage.

This weekend, the EX2600 will be loaded across multiple floats and begin its journey towards final assembly and commissioning.

Projects of this scale are made possible through the collaboration of many teams, and it's exciting to see another major milestone reached.

A big thank you to Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia, along with Brett Miles from the WA team, for their support and hospitality throughout the visit.

We are proud to support Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation with the delivery of two specially modified vehicles, a Toyota Prado and Ford Ranger to assist in delivering their Ranger Program (Nhaguwarra Ngarrigu) on Thalanyji Country around Onslow.

These vehicles will help support the important work being undertaken to care for and manage Thalanyji Country, ensuring rangers have the tools they need to access remote areas and continue their important work in environmental responsibility and cultural preservation..

What makes this program particularly special is its focus on engaging younger generations, creating opportunities for knowledge sharing and collaboration between Elders and emerging leaders. By working together on Country, traditional knowledge, culture and connection to land can continue to be passed on for generations to come.

Thank you to BTAC for the opportunity to be involved in such a meaningful initiative. We look forward to seeing the positive impact these vehicles will have in supporting the Ranger Program and the ongoing care of Thalanyji Country.

Great to be back in Newman last week to attend the Tigers Football & Sporting Club Newman Fight MND Round ❄️, which we were proud to sponsor.

It was fantastic to see the community come together in support of such an important cause. The atmosphere at the game was outstanding, with local sporting clubs rallying behind the event and raising more than $30,000 for FightMND.

From the jumper auctions to the dunking contest throughout the night, it was a great example of what regional communities can achieve when they get behind a cause.

While in town, we also had the opportunity to catch up with members of the community to hear about what's happening locally.

A big congratulations to the Newman Tigers, the volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who contributed to making the day such a success. Community sport continues to play a vital role in bringing people together, and this event was a fantastic showcase of that spirit.

A special thank you to the club for the FightMND jumper, we can't wait for our framed jumper to arrive!

Last week, Kuuwa hosted our annual National Reconciliation Week Breakfast viewing for the second year running.

What started as an internal opportunity to come together, reflect and learn has quickly become a meaningful part of our National Reconciliation Week.

This year, it was fantastic to have the Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation (BTAC) team join us.

Sharing the morning together sparked some great conversations about reconciliation, partnership, and the role we all play in creating stronger relationships and better outcomes.

A highlight was learning the Thalanyji word Nganhurru, meaning "we all", which perfectly captures the spirit of coming together, listening, learning and moving forward together.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussions.

Kuuwa Rentals has officially reached 7 years!

What started with light vehicles heading to site on the back of trucks has grown into convoys of heavy plant and equipment moving across WA, from down south, up through the Pilbara, NT and everywhere in between. Along the way, we’ve also grown a strong and dedicated team who continue to drive Kuuwa forward every day. As we grow, we’re putting work into improving how we operate behind the scenes, making sure our systems and processes continue to support the way we deliver for our clients.

That growth has been made possible through the trust and support of our clients, partners, people, and a strong supplier network we’re proud to work alongside, thank you for being part of the journey.

As a proudly Indigenous-owned business, Kuuwa is closely aligned with Buurabalayji Thalanyji Aboriginal Corporation and its long-term community vision. Giving back remains a key focus, from providing housing to support trainees and employment pathways, to supplying purpose-built vehicles for the BTAC Ranger Program so members can stay connected to and care for their Thalanyji Country.

Seven years on, we’re proud of how far the business and our team have come, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.

Something a little different is happening in the yard…

Our new custom-built BBQ trailer is currently in the process of being prepared for mobilisation to a regional community town.

Supporting communities and delivering tangible outcomes has always been at the heart of what we do at Kuuwa. Following the success of the Newman Tucker Truck, this new trailer is another way we can provide practical, impactful assets.

Once ready, it will support a wide range of community activities, from youth training and employment pathways to local events and fundraisers.

It will also reduce the challenge of transporting equipment between venues, providing a professional, accessible, and sustainable resource for the town.
