Yesterday we posted part one, here’s another story you won’t believe about reviews…
Deja Vu Estate awarded Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for 2021.
This award is based on Tripadvisor travellers’ reviews and places Deja Vu Estate in the top 10% of hotels in the world, according to Tripadvisor.
BLA BLA BLA…
As I said yesterday, at times this whole review concept leaves a lot to be desired.
Example two features the booking site Booking.com
A couple of girls stay for one night, leave early and STEAL over $600.00 worth of items from the villa. We have all their details, we call them and ask them to return stolen items, they say how dare you accuse us of stealing anything. Again we call the police, they take a full report and issue a report number - that’s the way it’s done these days. We find out the credit card was also stolen so we lose all the money for the stay as the bank sides with their client. We are out of pocket for a one night stay $1000.00. The booking was made through Booking.com. Well aren’t they useless, this woman reviews us on Booking.com giving us the lowest score she can. We supply all information to Booking.com, including police report and they REFUSE to take down the review of the thief. Again it effects our good ratings score. And the kicker - they wanted to still charge us commission for the booking. Again, WTF!
These examples show how useless these booking sites are when it comes to supporting suppliers. They don’t give a stuff and what makes it worse, all of them have offices off shore so I can’t even turn up and protest in person and all the monies go off shore as well.
As the great Australian Dick Smith has said, book directly with the hotel and tell the other sites to go to hell. Keep the money in Australia.
