Deja Vu Estate is a secluded and private place situated 150 kilometres north of Sydney in one of Australia’s greatest wine regions, Hunter Valley Wine Country. With three seperate, one bedroom villas on the 35 acre bushland estate, guests are offered privacy and luxury around the clock. Each villa has been located to offer complete privacy and caters only for a couple.

Yesterday we posted part one, here’s another story you won’t believe about reviews…
Deja Vu Estate awarded Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award for 2021.
This award is based on Tripadvisor travellers’ reviews and places Deja Vu Estate in the top 10% of hotels in the world, according to Tripadvisor.
BLA BLA BLA…

As I said yesterday, at times this whole review concept leaves a lot to be desired.

Example two features the booking site Booking.com

A couple of girls stay for one night, leave early and STEAL over $600.00 worth of items from the villa. We have all their details, we call them and ask them to return stolen items, they say how dare you accuse us of stealing anything. Again we call the police, they take a full report and issue a report number - that’s the way it’s done these days. We find out the credit card was also stolen so we lose all the money for the stay as the bank sides with their client. We are out of pocket for a one night stay $1000.00. The booking was made through Booking.com. Well aren’t they useless, this woman reviews us on Booking.com giving us the lowest score she can. We supply all information to Booking.com, including police report and they REFUSE to take down the review of the thief. Again it effects our good ratings score. And the kicker - they wanted to still charge us commission for the booking. Again, WTF!

These examples show how useless these booking sites are when it comes to supporting suppliers. They don’t give a stuff and what makes it worse, all of them have offices off shore so I can’t even turn up and protest in person and all the monies go off shore as well.
As the great Australian Dick Smith has said, book directly with the hotel and tell the other sites to go to hell. Keep the money in Australia.

Now I have to be honest this whole review concept at times leaves a lot to be desired. Two examples, please read on you won’t believe how pathetic these booking sites are.

The first example is from Tripadvisor, later I’ll post one from booking.com

A couple stay with us, we do a daily tidy of the villas as a service, it states this clearly on our website. Almost all guests are appreciative of this. If people request their privacy we leave them alone. But sometimes you get the idiots.

Jillian goes into the villa and it looks like a bomb site, plus there are a few little plastic bags with white powder inside them on the coffee table, obviously drugs plus a bag of ma*****na. So she leaves very quickly, making sure not to touch the drug stash.
Next she is abused by these idiots for invading their privacy by coming into the villa.
So what do they do, give us a bad review on Tripadvisor which effects our rating.
Jillian calls the police about the drugs and supplies all details to police.
We contact Tripadvisor tell them the whole story and request the review is taken down. They tell us this can’t happen as it’s a FAIR traveller review. WTF!
Tripadvisor are useless when it comes to servicing their suppliers, they couldn’t care less.

This is why we and all like small operators ask you to book direct with us. Don't let your discount and benefits become another big corporations commission!

In the beginning, the band used a different name for every performance. After they used the name of the Don Walker song "Cold Chisel" for one particular performance, that name stuck.

Although dogs are man’s best friend, most luxury hotels won’t host our four-legged friends – which is a bit ruff!
